FOR HOMEOWNERS
Is it free to post a job?+
Yes. Posting a job on FindMyFixer is completely free. You only pay when you accept a bid and confirm your booking.
How does the payment work?+
When you accept a bid, you pay the full job amount upfront via Stripe. Your payment is held securely by FindMyFixer and released to the tradesperson in two stages — 30% when work begins and 70% when you confirm the job is complete.
What if I'm not happy with the work?+
If you are not satisfied, raise a dispute within 72 hours of the job completion date using the button on your job page. Your final payment will be paused while we review the situation.
Can I cancel after accepting a bid?+
Yes. If you cancel more than 48 hours before the agreed start date, you will receive a full refund minus Stripe processing fees. If you cancel within 48 hours, 50% of the start payment is retained by the tradesperson. See our Cancellation Policy for full details.
Are tradespeople vetted?+
FindMyFixer reviews all worker profiles and reserves the right to remove any user who misrepresents their skills or conduct. All reviews on the platform are from real completed and paid jobs only.
What categories are currently available?+
We currently cover Plumbing, Electrical, and Landscaping in the Cardiff area. More categories and locations are coming soon.
FOR TRADESPEOPLE
Is it free to join?+
Yes. Joining FindMyFixer as a tradesperson is completely free. A small platform fee applies to completed jobs.
Do I have to pay for leads?+
No. Unlike other platforms you never pay to bid on jobs. You only pay a small platform fee when a job is successfully completed.
How do I get paid?+
Once the homeowner confirms job completion, the final payment is released. Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
What happens if a homeowner cancels?+
If a homeowner cancels within 48 hours of your agreed start date, you retain 50% of the start payment to cover your lost time. If they cancel earlier you will be notified immediately and the job relisted.
Can I bid on jobs outside Cardiff?+
During our Cardiff pilot all jobs are within the Cardiff area. We will be expanding to more locations soon.

How do I report a problem?+
Use the Report button on any job or user profile, or contact us directly at [your support email].
Is my payment information secure?+
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's leading payment processors. FindMyFixer never stores your card details.
